Bringing the Father to the Fatherless

June/July 2013 - Prayer Letter

Summer is almost over.  School is starting and the weather is heating up nicely here in Alabama/Georgia!

June found me in Jacksonville, FL for my week in candidate training school with Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples.  What a productive week that was!  I didn’t appreciate how much I needed a mission board until I spent that week in training. There was so much practical and spiritual guidance from great men of God who have been on the field for many, many years.  It quickly felt like family and the friendships I made there have continued and are a source of support and strength as I begin Pre-field Ministry!

In July, my second granddaughter, Elise Faith was born to Bryan and Danielle McDonald.  She is a sweet pea and a source of great joy to this Grammi.  The thought of being separated from them is never easy, but I know my loving God has a plan for all of us that is beyond my ability to comprehend and I rest in him to see us through the difficult emotional part!

I travelled to Cornelia, GA and Olar, SC to share my April survey trip with my friends at Camp Creek Baptist and True Faith Baptist.  The prayers and support of fellow Christians has come to mean so much to me.!  As I begin to visit and share at churches in the area, I am always blessed by the fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ.

God has providentially lead me to a talented young woman who is helping me with my presentation video.  This was a matter of much prayer for me personally!  When I found out she lived in Opelika, AL, just 25 minutes from where I live, I knew it was from Him!
My partners at True Faith Missions (TFM) have been granted full ownership and operating rights of the Bethlehem Orphanage in Sinkor, Liberia.  It is in a suburb of Monrovia, not too far from the Eleanor Wuo Orphanage.  These two ministries will serve as the base for our church planting efforts in Liberia.  Pastor Hal and his daughter Bethany just left for Liberia to set the groundwork. Brother Hal is going to be conducting Bible training classes.  We are praying for nationals who will be joining our ministry and who can be trained to serve with us.  How I wish I was with them!

Please pray for the 40 children in our care and the sponsorship program.  It is supplying the food, clothing and medical needs of the children.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support .
